Since I am off work for a few weeks, I decided to try my hand at a morning run. There are actually fewer cars than when I run in the evening. I think because when I run after work, everyone else is coming home from work, so there is a lot of traffic. I waited a couple of days to run again, partly because I am very busy with a class, but also to give my lungs a little more time to recuperate.
I enjoyed running in the morning, and even passed another runner while I was out. That hardly ever happens where I live. It was funny, while I try to stay on the very edge of the road, she was just trucking on down in the very center of the road. Maybe she was new or just visiting...or maybe she knew there was not much traffic out and about. I would never run in the middle of the road!
I got 4.45 miles in, which was good. More would have been nice, but I needed to just get in enough to prove that my lungs were ok. At least it didn't rain on me! It seems like it has been a very wet summer so far!
When my hair began to turn gray abundantly, a kindergartener pointed to my hair and said, "Mrs. Wheatley, you have silver highlights!" So, I'm not turning gray, I have Silver Highlights! And I'm a runner. This blog is about my adventures as a runner and asthmatic. Read on to follow my journey on my weekly runs and many races.
